Quality and automation in the production process of Roll Containers

IC’s wire mesh containers meet the highest quality standards in the industry thanks to an fast manufacturing process that finds its fullest expression in the synergy between versatile and flexible design, and the use of first-rate materials for each component. The company exploits the best of automation to ensure precision and speed, and blends it with the experience and care of its technicians to offer products that, literally, have been shining in the market for more than 40 years.

The supporting structure of the sides of the Roll Container is made of a round section tube which provides structural strength and offers resistance to stress. The base is made of a sturdy squared profile construction that leads to the overall stability of the roll container along with the reinforcing bars, but without weighing down the cart.

The process of making the base of the Roll Containers begins with an automatic cut-off machine that cuts the perimeter profile tubes and the wire mesh of the base. Meanwhile an automatic resistance welding machine creates the wire mesh that will be the supporting structure of the base. So the different components are welded together using an industrial welding robot, which unite the mesh and profile tubes to create the base of the roll container. This automated process ensures high precision and consistent quality in the manufacturing of the base, which, however, is always subject to the control of technicians and workers involved in assembly and shipment

Roll Container sides are also produced by following different processing steps. First, the cut-off machine delivers to the professional worker the sized pieces of structural round tube, which, subsequently, are bent by special machines to obtain the frame of the side. At this point the lower crossbar is welded to the frame so that the complete structure is obtained, to which the wire mesh will be attached. Ultimately, wire welding takes place, which can be done manually or automatically, to assemble the entire side and accessories such as hooks and brackets, necessary for safe and reliable final assembly without the use of tools or utensils by the user.

A final fundamental step to ensure the longevity of roll containers is the galvanic treatment (electrolytic galvanisation) This surface finish protects the containers from corrosion and ageing over time, and ensures greater strength and longevity.

After the various processing steps, the final assembly of the roll containers takes place. The bases are delivered to customers stacked and complete with wheels, while the sides are placed inside some mounted roll containers to serve as packaging, reducing the risk of accidental damage. This method of transport is safe and economical because it reduces space and thus costs, and the customer himself will be able to take advantage of this convenient logistical option should he move their fleet of roll containers.
